I have a movie with 3 scenes:
1) Intro
2) Main
3) Credits
I am loading variables into the first scene ("Intro")
How do I reference those variables in scene 2 ("Main").
The variable names are:

strVar0,strVar1,strVar2 ... strVar(N)

using scenes makes no difference as when you publish if intro has 100 frames and main 100 frames in the published file all are on same timeline i.e. main would be frames 101-200 so just reference them by the names you have.

Load your variables into a level then you can access them from other scenes.

Code:
_level0.myVariable = "wrong";

Thanks guys - I appreciate your expertise.

It looks to me like writing script in Flash is a good way to learn Javascript.
