I have another post in the 'other topics' I am in the process of normalizing an old database - one of the main changes was using a real primary key rather than a name field.

I have changed my forms to view the name but the data is the primary key (number)

However, my reports use the form field to populate the name of the masterbroker that I am running the report for - that value now shows the PK rather than the actual name.

How do I translate the actual name to show on the report?

Thanks!!!!

Fred

Either base the report on a query that joins the main table to the name table or change the textbox on the report to a combobox that looks up the name table. I think the first is the prefered method.

Thanks Remou - the report is already based on a query - thought maybe there was a way to still use it but using the field from the query work - thanks!!!
