refer password only

Does anyone know how to refer passwords only from one LDAP master to another? If so, could you point me in the right direction?

Depends - are you talking within the same type of directory server - or a separate product entirely?

For instance - Sun provides a plugin to handle referring password authentication to another server ... it's called PTA or pass through authentication and is bundled as a plugin ...

I have a couple of AIX boxes. I want to make them all in an LDAP cluster, but have the "master" AIX LDAP server refer the password to a Domino LDAP server.

So do these boxes already have LDAP instances running? If so what vendor supplies the LDAP services for them ... like Novell, Sun/iPlanet, openLDAP, etc ....?

Sorry - I'm not familiar enough with the IBM product to know if they have that kind of functionality out of the box ...
