Hi all. We have two IIS 5.0 webservers. They each have a copy of the same webpage and they both feed from a SQL database on a 3rd server.

I am wanting to provide redundancy for our internal sites. How can I do this?

For example, if server1 that hosts sitea goes down, how can I point users to siteb on server2 without users having to refresh dns, etc?

That would be through load ballancing. Load ballancing is where both servers share a third IP address and all the network traffic does to that third IP Address.

Load ballancing can be done at either the network switch level or by using the Windows Load Ballancing Service (LBS).
