I’ve created redundant routing group connectors in our exchange environment just in case our primary links are not available. Our routing group connectors are setup in a hub and spoke.
Administrative Group A
Administrative Group B
Administrative Group C
Administrative Group D
Site A acts as the hub so every Administrative Group has a connection directly to site A. If site B sends an email destined for site C, then it will get routed through site A.
If Administrative Group A is not available I want B to take over. So I created connectors from every site to site B and set the connector at a higher cost. To test this I take site A’s server offline but the mail does not get routed through site B, the emails just sit in the ques. Now if I set the backup connectors at a lower cost than the primary connectors it works.
Is there something that I am doing wrong? I hope I explained my scenario well enough. Thanks.
