I recently replaced 5 computers on our windows 2003 network. Since then, every user has to log out and log back in daily or they can't use the system. What couldv'e caused this and how can I correct this situation? rsbruce.

Can you be more specific please?

What error messages are the users getting? What roles do the machines that were replaced serve (domain controllers, DNS servers, file servers, etc)?

They are Windows XP Pro workstation We just cant get to G: Drive each day unless we log out and relog in. With old workstations we did not have to do this.

Are they getting an error message, or the does the drive disapear?

How is the drive being mapped?

When you say you can't get to the G: drive, what exact error message are your users getting?

The network drives are no longer available or do not show up each day until you log out and log back in.

No error message unless you try to open a program that we use on drive G: If you dont log out and log back in on your workstation error is something like unable unable to find file to open the program as drive is no longer available rsbruce

When you replaced the computers did you put them in the same GROUPS as the old computers?

Yes As I only have one domain and one group The only thing I think could be I added the workstations from the server this time as opposed to from the workstation last time.

What OS did you have on the old machines? Sounds like it could be a policy issue.

Martyn

Are you running a GPO that runs a script, or is the drive mapped from the startup of the old machines? As mrdenny asks, how are you mapping these drives?
