I have a customer upgrading from a redundant SX2000 to two 3300s. Problem I have is they have 12 analog modems connected to the current system. Is there any way to make those lines redundant?
By its nature an anlog line is not redundant. You cannot plug two lines into a modem without some sort of external device. I would just connect 6 to one ICP and the rest to the other. Detailed design will depend on your requirements.
Slapin is correct. Don't confuse "Control" redundancy with "Peripheral" redundancy. Peripheral redundancy hasn't been available since the days of the old SX2000-SG and it was an expensive option. Even then the individual station lines were still not redundant, merely the Peripheral Switch controller and the Message Switch and Circuit Switch matrix were redundant. The actual station line card was never redundant.
