Reducing physicial size of pdf when exporting?

Is there a way that I can export a page that's 8.5 x 11 to a 5.5 x 8.5 pdf (or smaller)? I need to place pdfs as images back into an ID document and I want them very small.

If you have Acrobat pro you can print postscript to that size and use scale to fit. Then distill the pdf.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
