I am shooting very small objects for a catalog. The canvas size is 1.75" x 1.3"

My images look fine at full scale from my digital camera but when I reduce the image size to fit the canvas they look blurry. I tried making smart objects and then reducing the image size but it doesnt help.

Whats the best way to reduce an image size and keep the image looking sharp.

Make sure the resampling box is unchecked when you do the image resize. This will ensure the same number of pixels are kept whilst reducing the dimensions of the image - effectively increasing the resolution.
