OK guys . .I'm stuck again:(.

I have two CS1000M cabinets (both 4.0), connected by 8 ip trunks, call them Main and Remote. I have a phantom dn setup on Remote (pasted below as tn 65 1, 4 digit dn). I use rcfw to forward the phantom dn to a 6 digit dn, which routes across the ip trunks to Main. Main sees the 6 digit dn and forwards across a pri to an asterisk server.

As an FYI here, vm for extensions on asterisk uses the asterisk vm. vm for phones still hanging off of the nortel use callpilot.

This works GREAT and perfect. . .almost. I also forward extensions on Main to the asterisk server and those extensions do work perfectly. However, the extensions on Remote have problems with forwarding (fast busy or redirect to callpilot?) when the phone is ringing or just after someone else dials the number.

Here's the TN of a number experiencing this problem on Remote:

Any ideas? I'm thinking it has to be something on the ip trunks, but all other traffic (nortel to nortel, nortel to pstn on either Remote or Main) seems to work just fine.

update . .. it seems that this (fast busy or callpilot forwarding) only occurs for the first few seconds after a call is made. If I dial an extension, wait a few seconds and dial it from a second phone while the first is still ringing, it works fine.

The main thing I've found was this:
DCH 10 IMSG SETUP REF 00008181 CH 69 0 0 0 TOD 14:18:00
FEAT :NCID
PROGRESS: CALL IS NOT END TO END ISDN
CALLING #:1531 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE/ABBREVIATED (CDP)
CALLED #:7696 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE/ABBREVIATED (CDP)

DCH 10 OMSG REL COMP REF 00008181 CH 69 0 0 0 TOD 14:18:04
CAUSE :SWED EQIP CONGESTION
DIAG: 042

This is from the dchannel for the ip trunks when I get a fast busy using an internal phone on Main to dial the extension. The call is going from Main, (1) over ip trunks to Remote, (2) hitting the forwarded extension, (3) forwarding BACK over the ip trunks to Main and then (4) over a PRI to asterisk.

It looks to me like the ip trunks are stopping the call at (1) . .

Still looking for more info.

call forwards once to Main and then a second time to asterisk server

have you tried CLS of SFA?

using a diff extension now for testing, set SFA, same thing:

should I perhaps use ACD instead of phantom forwards? I'm looking for documentation on trying this and not having any luck yet:(.

yea, ACD's seem to work properly:). I found someone else recommended using acd's for perma forwarding here somewhere else. This forum is so awesome:) . .thanks to past posters!
