Redirecting com port data to file?

I'm not sure which forum to post this on - this one seemed most logical, but please feel free to point me in the right direction.

I used to use a serial analyzer for this, but no longer have one - and am under the gun.

I'm trying to capture output of a program through the PC's com port. Is there any way to redirect this data, before it hits the com port, to a file or printer?

Depending on your OS the answer is yes or no. Try the OS forum for your OS.
