Does anyone know the best way of redirecting the request of a web browser to any site to go to another server.

eg: myhomepage.com:80 --> myserver.internal.net:80

what i'm trying to do is set up a guest/tempory user vlan and i want to catch all web requests and point them to a web server where they register there details once thats done i run a script to change the vlan to allow them full access.

if anyone has any ideas as to the best way of doing this it would be great to hear from you.

Umm.. DNS or... Firewall are the two things that come to mind.

Or, if you want to get more complicated, I think you want a transparent proxy server. In addition, I think you can use WCCP on your Cisco router to redirect HTTP requests to the transparent proxy server.

I've never done it, but I think it's possible.

HTH,
John
