Hello, i have the job of fixing my old bosses mess!

I am running RAID 5 on a data server. One drive of ID4 says its redirected to drive ID 0.

The drive bays in the chasis are as listed from the top

empty
drive
drive
drive
drive

The RAID 5 is listed in the order of ID3, ID1, ID2

I assume at one time the first drive(top one) must have went bad, the hot swap was for id 3, ID0 backuped to the hot swap ID #, then he stuck a drive into the fifth bay. Can I make the redirected drive the hotswap? Will this wreck the RAID ? should I format the redirected drive before i make it a hot swap

I am not sure I would appericate some guadiance on the matter before I backup and proceed.
