Hello,

I have had to reinstall exchange over the last day due to email routing problems. I have managed to rebuild and have got mailboxes etc all working. During the rebuild I lost all my public folders. I have them on a backup tape from a backup a few days ago, however, I have had to rename my exchange server and when I try to restore it fails. Is there a way to overcome this problem? I am using the redirect of exchange wizard and naming the public folder location to restore but to no joy.
Can I restore the files pub.etm and pub.edb to a sep location and the replce the current ones?

Any advice appreciated

Did you back them up at brick level backupr or IS backup

I did them at brick level. Although problem has now been solved. I tried to do back up and redirect, it said failed but all the folders appeared after the backup? not sure if this is some kind of background replicaion taking place from old 5.5 server, but I'm not going to question, doing backup now to make sure I have a copy.

Many thanks
