redirect not working

i put a couple of redirect in apache httpd.conf file but it doesnt seem to work ???
i put:
Redirect

http://webaddress/file.html

http://webaddress/file2.html

i restarted the server but it did not seem to go through.
i have more than one redirect under the redirect section and only one seems to be working. any ideas?

The way I understand it, the syntax is:
Redirect /path /

http://absolute.url

I'm not really sure that you could use this to redirect a file name to another file name. You might need to use RedirectMatch with regular expressions for that.
