HI,

I have a GPO running that redirects my users folders to a network location.

On my machine I am able to right click on the folder, go to the 'location' tab, and click the 'restore default' buttion to move this back to the C:

I need to do this for ione of my remote users, but he cannot see the 'restore default' button.

I suspect the reason I can see it is because I am a domain admin.

Does anyone know how I can give him the permissions to see and use this button?

Thanks,

DO you know where I do this, as I was looking for this but could not find it.

AD Users and Computers - GO to the OU that contains the policy. Right click on the OU - Properties - Group Policy Tab - Highlight the group policy and click properties. Go to the Security tab. Add the user in question. In the bottom pane in the "Apply Group Policy" field, check Deny for the user.

The group policy tab has a button, which takes me into the group policy editor.

I'm using R2 also. If you click the Group Policy tab, the top pane should have your list of policies and on the bottom should be serveral buttons, inclouding Properties.

the group policy tab just has a button saying' 'open'.

That's because you've installed the GPMC. Offhand I don't see how to set a security exclusion in the GPMC...

Ok...
Click that Open button. This will bring up the GPMC. In the left pane right click the policy in question and select Edit.

This will bring up the Policy Editor. Again in the left pane, right click the policy and select Properties. There is the Security tab that pgaliardo was telling you about.

Thanks for all the help.

I found the apply group policy permission.
