I'm attempting to correct an issue with redialing numbers from the call log (missed/InAns) on the phone. The number is displayed as we'd like it, with area code, number, no prefix. For example "5035551234" When selecting a number to call, the phone automatically adds a "91" prefix, which works perfectly for long distance calls, but not for local calls (which we do more of).

In our area, from our phone system, we dial numbers as follows:
Local: 95035551234
Long Distance: 915415551234

But for local calls, the redial will call "915035551234" for local calls, which returns a "you suck" message from the phone company. I would like it to add "91" for long distance calls, but only "9" for local calls.... and I'm not sure how.

In IP Office Manager, the Prefix is blank for the analog trunks. The relevant short codes (not sure if they are a factor) are [9]N;/Dial/N/0 and 9/Secondary Dial Tone/./0

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Use the system sc [9]503xxxxxxx/Dial/0/N. It will strip out the 503 and dial 7 digits.

This works great as long as you do not have 503 ld calls. In that case, you will have to build separate codes for each local exchange with N and use 1N for the [9]503xxxxxxx sc.

Good luck,

I'm a little confused by your response, and not sure you completely understood the problem... but it could also be I don't have as thorough an understanding of prefect short code set up.

Our problem is that when we call a number from the phone's log, it incorrectly inserts a 1 before the number for local calls (but this 1 is needed for long distance calls). I'm not even sure where you specify to add that 1, since I can't find it anywhere.

When a call comes in from 503-555-1234, it's stored in the log as 5035551234, and if we want to have the phone dial that number, it uses 915035551234, but we need it to use 95035551234. The phone inserts a 1 that breaks the phone call.

(If your previous answer is a correct response to this, I apologize).
