RedHat-NMIS->Adding an user to Apache

We are using a Redhat Linux for NMIS for the Network Managemet. NMIS uses Apache for Web Browser. I have added an user /usr/local/nmis/conf/users.dat nmis. I have restarted /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/httpd restart.

Deomen is restarting, but browser is not taking the password.

Can anyone who has worked with similar problem ,please help me.

Offhand, make sure that's the file that Apache is using. Check in the config file for Apache which governs the NMIS setup.
