I have a runing Redhat 7.3 which I want to install a tape backup. I get a Adaptec SCSI 2940UW and
IBM tape backup. I have tested the drive/scsi card setup in Window xp system, to make sure the SCSI device
is setup correctly. It run ok and backup correctly.

However, install under Linux seems to be ok, it found the new hardware and seems to setup correctly,
I used KDat backup program and seem to have no response, and tape device set to "/dev/st", I also set to
"/dev/st0" still not working. I included below message, pls check and adv if I need additional setting.

dmesg

Try 'mt -f /dev/st0 status'
