I am looking for suggestions on what files people use to troubleshoot system errors?

I am aware of /var/log/messages
/var/log/boot.info

what else is there, are there any good tools for this?

thanks

CA

I can hardly wait to wake up in the morning to check my e-mail from logwatch. It checks all the logs you pick and can be set to e-mail a report to you at a given interval. I like it because I can see at a glance if there's been any mischief on any of my servers. It lets me know everything from hack attepts to spammers trying to relay through my mail server right down to the time and how many tries. For more info "man logwatch".

While I second IRudebwoy's sentiments, I'd like to make the observation that you probably need to get out more... [wink]

I'm the the desert. No schedules here.

50 miles from anywhere good and 5 miles from the local dive. Crappy beer, no thanks. [pipe]
