I have a Redhat 7.3 server, it was working fine but I decided to install webmin. The install went fine and I can now remotely manage the server. The problem is that when I reboot the server either through webmin or at the console the server reboots fine but the GUI on the server seems to hang up. The server still works and I can use webmin to make changes to it, or I can telnet into it to make the changes.

The Gui is empty just a blank lite blue background with the mouse pointer on it, which I can move around. Any ideas?? Thanks

No, I believe it is Gnome.

Then the answer is "yes". Gnome is a widgetset that runs on top of Xwindow.

Xwindow is using resources that would be better used by your server processes.
