I have all the network settings in place. But there is no where to put which domain I want to connect to??
I have tried editing the
etc/sysconfig/network file but when I place
domainname=?? It doesn't save.

Any ideas

Thanks
Peter

... which domain you want to connect to? Are you talking Win2k domains or do you mean what hostname you want to set? //Daniel

Or are you talking about Samba settings to get that machine into a Mi¢ro$oft domain? ______________________________________________________________________

Do you have Samba installed?

If you installed it from a RedHat rpm, then the configuration file is /etc/samba/smb.conf ______________________________________________________________________

No, I don't have Samba installed..

Now if I didn't want to log onto a domain but still wanted
to surf the net on the domain would that be possible. I am sure no... Why I am asking is beyond me.

So how do i go about setting up samba?

Thanks
Peter

I'm not sure of what you want.

Do you want to be able to share files with Mi¢ro$oft machines on your network?

or

Do you want to be able to surf the internet from a web browser?

It's two different questions. ______________________________________________________________________
