Hello again guys,
This is more of an annoyance than a problem, but it still has a client of mine pissed and is completely boggling my mind.
This client has several file shares on their server. Upon boot or reboot, when you look at the drives it shows a disconnected red X. Of course, if you click on the drive, you can access it just fine... So what's the problem?
This client uses some of our software and other software such as Quickbooks, which have files on the mapped drives, and if she reboots and doesn't go into Computer and manually open the drive first to connect to it, Quickbooks will throw an error that the filke doesn't exist. It is a nuisance.
I have spent hours on the phone with Microsoft support, who is no brighter than a 3-watt light bulb. I have seen KB articles and several registry hacks to try and fix this issue, but none of them seem to work. Anyone else have this same issue that can shed some insight my way? Thanks as always!
