RKINGY78 how did you know that your DSM 16+ was faulty? I am having the Same issue with my BCM50 DSM 32+ expansion module. I have phones attached to that module that aren't operational

My initial guess is that you have a bad MBM or bad power supply to the expansion module

My thoughts exactly vtphoneguy. I know having a bad MBM will disrupt phone usage, but will the power source also do the same? I just want to know for sure before I report what the issue is. I have rebooted my BCM 50 but nothing has changed. Could you give me any other options before I call it quits? Thanks for responding.

vtphoneguy...I have replaced power sources from an existing expansion module that had no problems, and still a red LED. I think for sure now that it is the MBM.

There was a service note put out a few years back about the red LED on the DSM32 modules. They had a bad run of modules that if you had too many sets connected to it, when you cycled the module that it would draw more power than the circuit could handle and it left the red led on. There was no effect on the functionality of the card, it just turned the led red and kept it that way. The only way to get it to turn green again was to remove the amphenol cable, reboot the system and after the system comes back up, reconnect the amphenol cable...........or swap the module.

If you have sets that don't work though, that's another issue.

Telcodog... Thanx for the information. Unknowingly I did exactly what you said while trouble shooting, and still I have a red LED. So the red LED has nothing to do with the phones not working? What would you suggest that I do to get them working again? Also...some of these phones have no power, and some do. I'm at a stanstill at the moment.

Thank goes to the both of you guys! Found the issue. Solution.... MBM was bad, and replaced it. Phones came right back up!
