Hi everyone,

I have a BCM 3.7 that I replaced the harddrives on. when I power the system up I am getting a red light on the raid controller and the system never boots up. I can get in thru putty, and I tried running a universal profile, but the system just runs thru a never ending sequence of red lights.

Any help would be appreciated.

This happened to me as well... I replaced the hard drive and the unit never came up... even without RAID mode

This is what I did... got a new hard drive, took out the BIOS battery and let the BIOS reset to factory default, uninstalled the modem (and kept it uninstalled), and booted it up without the RAID controller. Ran Universal Profile and waited for it to boot.

Then I installed the RAID controller and modem, and let it come back up again and let the machine run its mirroring process. Shutdown when it is complete and recycle power to it. The mirroring process started again.

I honestly believe it was something with the modem... I tried it again on another machine that was having the same problem, and when I took it out it booted normally.

Did you use one programmed HDD and one blank HDD?

I always connect the programmed drive first directly to the IDE bus bypassing the RAID card.
Run the initialization, install keycodes, restore from backup or reconfigure.
When everything is complete, I power down and install the RAID portion. A red led is typical for around the first 10 minutes, then you should see it start to mirror.
Also, remember to set the date to 1/1/2008, so you don't run into the Apache SSL problem, before you init the HDD.
