Hi. I am trying to set this up and cannot get it to work well with the firewall on. I have ports 20, 21 and 80 open, but uploading/downloading is egregious. It is so slow. I turn off the firewall and the transfer speed is so fast.

Could someone advise me on the vsftpd.conf or firewall ports (which to open)? Thanks.

It's probably due to the server wanting to use passive ports, which aren't allowed by the firewall.

I think the variables in vsftpd.conf are:

pasv_min_port=
pasv_max_port=

Once these are set, you'll need to open them in the firewall.

Good luck!
