Hi,

Have Red Hat 9.0 running on a small network with a mix of Win2K and Win98 SE boxes.

Red Hat can log on to a Win98 box without a problem, but requires a user name and password to a Win2K box even if not required and cannot log on.

How is this resolved, please?

TIA

Have you tried entering the ip of the remote machine instead of name? I did this and it worked for me. Not sure why it did this. Also i had to do this for the first time from windows to samba (linux). Also what version and setup is your samba install? (if that is what you are using.)

PS.
windows may be caching your username/password for you. Not sure how to reset this....

Thanks,
James
