I'm pretty new to linux and I need to install Red Hat 9 using FTP as my CD-ROM drive is broken. I've copied the installation files from disk 1 to C:\redhat on a windows XP machine and have also copied the contents of the RPM's from disk 2 and 3 to C:\redhat\redhat\RPMS. I've created a bootdisk using rawrite and it boots up fine, but my NIC is a RealTek 8139/810X and there's no driver in linux for it (when I say FTP installation is prompts for driver). I've downloaded the driver from RealTek however now I'm stuck. It's not like windows where all the files go onto a floppy for me is it. I need to use Makefile to compile some .c file - but I need linux already installed to do this ????? Can somebody please help me? How do I create a driver disk for my NIC?
