Hey,

I am a newbie here to the Linux arena...
Anyway I have setup permissions for 2 users for 2 folders

folders being - upload, download -- in the /var/ftp/ folder

company -- read +write + execute has access to both folders
ftpuser -- has read + execute access to download
ftpuser -- has write + execute access to upload

company -- is the file owner: of both folders
ftpuser -- is the file group: of both folder with the proper permissions.

both users are members of their own respective group, as their primary groups.

both folders have none of the special flags check boxes checked.

I even created a Samba share with read/write access to the /var/ftp/ folder

When I use an FTP client everything works as it should.
When I login through I.E. "ftp://username:password@url", everything looks as it should be I can not copy files from the Linux FTP site to my Windows box but could do everything else.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks for looking

Erik

Permissions seem to be fine, this may be an issue with our proxy server. I connected from home and I was able to do everything that I needed to do and the permissions worked properly.

Hi

do you run a proxy(squid)? if not, maybe the ftp module to load.

This server is pretty bland. Its sole purpose is to function as an FTP server and that is about all it does. It has its firewall settings on high, and has 2 accounts with FTP access.

Running

VSFTP
and that is about it.
