ok well i've been trying to install red hat linux 9.0 on a seperat partition on my hard drive. so this is what i've done so far (sorry not sure if any of this info is going to pertain to the question but it might so i'll put it all here) i downloaded the 3 iso files from red hat and saved them on my ntfs partition (i didn't realize that linux couldn't read ntfs before i started) so after realizing that i had to have the iso files on a diferent partition i went about formating the extra partition i had already made as a fat32 and then put the iso files in there thinking that i could use the files and put linux on the same partition (found out i was wrong already) so i then went and deleted that partition that i put the iso files on and created a smaller partition (2gig) leaving me with 6 gig to create a partition to install linux onto. so after i did this i actually got to start the install process i went threw all the way till it finished prepairing to install and then started to install. thats when it gave me the error (sorry i didn't write it down) wich said that i had a media error wich could mean that i might not have enough room or there could be problems with my media. so it said for me to check my media and try the install again. wich i tried to install again but i had the same problem. does anyone know what i did wrong? please feal free to ask me about anything that i'm sure i ended up leaving out that could help you, help me.
thanx for your help

go to Linuxiso.org and check your file sizes against what is listed as the size of the .iso. I had a huge problem with my RH9 iso I first got because they were not the complete images, so it started well enough, but died at certain points. This problem should ask you for the RH install CD though, because it no longer thinks what you have is the install CD.

Probably not, but worth a look. Sean.

kewl thanx for the tip. i ended up finding out how to scan the iso files threw the linux install boot disk and i found out that the first iso was corupt. so i downloaded a new one and replaced the files and went threw the install process all over again and this time it compleated.(cool) but when i restarted the computer and tried to boot to linux for the first time it gave me an xwindow error and then went threw this atempt at reconfiguing itself and failed again. the error said something along the line of error on line 96 something about the code that folows the monitor can only be of a certain type. if anyone knows what i should do now i'd really love to join the linux society lol. well i've been told that install is the hardest part,... i sooooooo hope thats true lol but the worst part is i've still gotten more trouble from windows :D thanx again
