I have a Dell R910 which is currently running Red Hat Enterprise 5.7 and I wish to upgrade it to be running 6.1. Can I perfrom an upgrade from the install media or is it better off perfroming a fresh install?
The prefered way in most cases is to update/upgrade, but in this case I tend to agree with ZaSter. One of the major changes in this version is to the file system itself. An upgrade would not include this or any apps that are dependent on the new file system.
So a fresh install sounds like the route to go. Have they improved the logical volume setup during the install as I always found this very clunky with version 5?
