This may be common knowledge, but this board just helped me out so I will contribute my two cents:<br>

When you initially install RH 6.0 the default GUI is GNOME. While I like gnome some people are still dedicated to kde. I have seen alot of news posts of people going through torture to get their kde configured, swearing all the way. Well here it is:<br>
<br>
Log in and start an xterm (console) whatever.<br>
Type: switchdesk<br>
Choose the GUI you want.<br>
You will be prompted to restart X<br>
Press CTL-ALT-BKSP<br>
Log in and you should see your new desktop<br>

Thanks warmongr, I am a new arrival to this group. I have been using Unix through school for the past few years and really enjoy learning about Linux for home use. To me Gnome is a nice addition to redhat, it offers a lot right at your fingertips. I have posted a question about the kernel. <br>
