Hi All,
I've got a few jobs that I need to check on a daily basis. At the moment I mark the jobs off on a spreadsheet so that I can refer back to them historically if needed. A simple yes or no on whether the job was done. I figured I could do this on sharepoint (WSS 3.0) and make my life a little easier.
I created a task list but realised there's no recurring event option in there so with a little googling found that if I created a template from a basic calendar then used that template to create a new list with a view that looked like a task list I'd get the functionality I needed. Happy days. So I've got a task list view with the names of the jobs and they recur every week day. I added an extra column to the view (a yes/no check box) so that I could check off the status dependant on whether it was done or not. And then the problem occurred.
If I change the yes/no checkbox the change occurs on the scheduled task everywhere in the calendar. This means that saying the all the jobs were done on Monday changes the status of all the upcoming jobs and visa versa. I'm sure you get the gist.
So my question is this. Is there a way of having the check box independent of the recurrence? Or does anyone have a better way of achieving what I'm looking to achieve?
By the way we're running WSS 3.0. Really basic setup. WSS is pretty much just used for storing contact info and holiday calendars at the moment.
Thanks in advance.
