recurrent BSOD error message

I get a recurrent BSOD error message as follows:

VCOMM (05) + 0000053A ERROR: 0E : 0028 : C02A903A

this message often pops up when I start Win media Player version 9.0, but not every time I start it. Also sometimes it pops up when nothing is running. My OS is Win ME with MSIExplorer version 5.5 (it happened just the same when I was using MSIE 5.0). I've searched MS tech database and google, as well but could not find a DEFINITIVE EXPLANATION.

Can anyone tell me the cause (and cure) of this particular message?

I am experiencing the same issue, but I am on an ME machine and the message pops when I print an Acrobat document. It happens sporadically. Is there a fix to this?
