I'm completely new to Flash and I'm trying to create some buttons for my website. I am using the rectangle object, but I can't work out how to set the thickness of the border. Can anybody tell me how to do this?

Select the rectanglle tool. In the properties panel, there's a box left to the Stroke Style box. That's where you'd change the stroke's height, in other words the border's thickness.
