I am trying to duplicate a paper form that has a number of checkboxes and descriptive statements inside a rectangle, all of which is in the report detail section. When the report runs, everything inside the rectangle is invisible. The same thing happens if I construct a rectangle out of individual straight lines. Does anyone know how to correct this? Thanks.

Check the properties of the objects, especially the "BackStyle" of the rectangle.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,

Weird. I just did it for a report i used to demo other effects and as long as the rect. is transparent and the controld behind are visible, they show up. I can't think of anything else which would do this.

Are the underlying controls visible in design view?

Do they (underlying controls) have values in the recordsource (NOT NULL)?

If you remove the rectangle are 'they' visible?

Are you using a RECTANGLE, LINES or an OPTION GROUP?

Michael,
Apparently either Access or I was having a moment yesterday. This morning I recreated the rectangle that had obscured everything (even individual vertical lines on either side of the other controls had the same effect as the rectangle yesterday) and the controls that were invisible yesterday remained visible on report run today.

This db compacts on exit, and I closed Access when I left yesterday - could anything in that have cured my problem? At any rate, thanks for your help.
Jeff
