Hello there,

I have a lot of jobs in my database server and we want to format the server and re-install win3k in this machine. How can the jos be re-created after re-installing the win3k in this machine. I tried through Genenerate SQL script for JOB, but i think this is not working. maybe somehow through sdb database ?

Thanks,
ProBani.

You can goto jobs screen in EM, select all job,
right click==> All Tasks==>Generate Scripts.
Next screen ==>Preview will generate a script off all jobs, copy or save it. You can execute later after you intsalled the new sql server instance.
Make sure you move all related objects to those jobs. You might have to import your dts tasks also.

Good Luck.

And lastly, don't forget that some of your jobs may be dependant on DTS Packages, Replication and some of them may call/use Stored Procedures and User Defined Functions. If you don't have the proper dependencies moved over with the jobs, some of your jobs won't work.

It's just something you might want to verify and check before you do your formatting.
