Recreate SD Card grayed out 2

How do I get Manager to let me recreate an SD card? It lets me format it but the recreated SD section is all Grayed out..

This should be simple but what am I missing here?

This is an easy one and you will not forget.
Your working directory is not pointing to a folder which contains the folder MemoryCards

Normally the folder Manager has this folder.

copied that folder into the directory I am trying to work out of and it didn't help.. I also changed manager back to its own directory and tried it that doesn't work either.

ACA - IP Office
ACSS - SMEC (IP Office)

It should be there.

Have a look in C:/Program Files/Avaya/IP Office/Manager.
That should be your working directory if you need that version (that you have installed)

What i always do is install for example 6.0.8
Then i copy the folder "Manager" and rename it in to Manager_6_0_8 or something simular.

When you need to do these kind of stuff then i change my working directory to C:/Program Files/Avaya/IP Office/Manager_6_0_8

Do not forget that both working directories must be the same!!!

That's exactly what I did for version 6.1.12. I have a folder named BIN Collection where do exactly what you describe extracting the Admin files then snagging the Manager folder out of it and renaming it to whatever firmware level it is.

It works for me so you must have done something wrong.
Do not forget to set both .bin and .cfg working directories to the same folder.

Yup that was it (not having both cfg and bin pointed at the same directory).

OK it's not grayed out anymore however after I choose the card I want to recreate it does nothing.... WTF

So you choose recreate and then Alaw or Ulaw?
Then you select the card and hit enter.

It should copie all files to it.

I am doing a partner version card, I select Advanced|Recreate SD Card|Partner Version, then the dialog pops up to choose the card you want to recreate, I select the card choose OK/open which ever it is and then it doesn't do it.

About a minute or so and yes the card is a partner card..

Tried it again waited a good 20 minutes and all appears to have done is wipe the card clean now there is no data on it..

Then you did a format and not a recreate :)
A recreate does not wipe the card.

No actually i didn't, I also did again this morning and it still does nothing. Once I select the card I want to recreate nothing happens no windows come up nothing.

Reinstalled Manager and that fixed it.

Question if I upgrade an SD card to higher firmware level than a system that already had a config on it will it automatically upgrade that system to the higher firmware lever??
