I am running NW 7.4.2 on AIX 5.3
I have several clients that are going to be shutdown for an extended period and I would like to reuse their licences for other new servers.
I intend on deleting the client entry from NW but take a copy of the 'Client ID' but leave the client index entries on the server intact. I hope that this would then make it possible to recreate the client at a later date (if required) and perform restores and backups as needed.
Is this correct or am I missing something?
thanks

When you delete the client, the license is freed up for reuse.
You can recreate the client immediately using the same client id. You can restore the data but if you dont run new backups a license will not be used for the recreated client.
Important is the same clientid !
