Hi Everybody, I have problems recovering data from legato ..
I try to changetime on recover program to recover some old data this message appears:

recover> changetime 06/07/05
cannot browse /data01/backup/reporting/gsm/ as of ` 6/07/05 23:59:59'

What can i Do or how can i recover this year old data?

This is a message, not a problem (yet).

Do you have at all a browsable save set from this point in time? - If not,
- You can either use the save set recovery where you do
not need the file index or
- You can re-scann the save set to rebuild the index

If you have an index however, an index related problem is obvious which you may try to repair with nsrck.

Warning: Networker internal date format is "mm/dd/yy", and external date format depend on localized version.
(for example mminfo date format is "dd/mm/yy" on french version)
Are you using non english version?

manually load this tape in a drive, then use scanner to see if you can read the tape

# scanner /dev/nst0

if you can read the tape and see the information you have 2 options.....scan the tape back into the media index, and then recover using the saveset id's, or just scan the tape and parse this thru uasm to recover the data...

i.e.
scan tape back in media index to perform "recover -S ###"
scanner -im /dev/nst0
or
scanner /dev/nst0 -x uasm -rv /full/path/of/data
scanner and uasm have many parameters that can be used...
