What, in specific terms, happens to a disk bearing any sort of filesystem, when attached as a secondary drive, or connected via USB to a system RECEIVING a zen image that only contains information to build the primary drive?

And by what means, if any, is this condition recoverable?

I inadvertantly had a keychain drive connected to the system at the same time, which I scanned with file recovery software, and discovered to still contain most of the original info, but to also have a small Zen partition, containing linux system files, written to it. Neither filesystem was in a location so as to be discoverable by windows without the file recovery program, however.
