We need to recover Oracle Database and hit into the following error during recovery process:

ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
ORA-01122: database file 112 failed verification check
ORA-01110: data file: '/oracle/oradata/prod/DBHData1.dbf'
ORA-01200: actual file size of 195599 is smaller than correct size of 195603

What is the possible problem which result in the above restore error?

Appreciate for quick tips as we need to restore back the database urgently.

regards,
KK

Did you ftp the file? If so was it in binary?
I have seen this with compress/uncompress too, but have not found out why it would not uncompress correctly. Repeating the uncompress worked fine. Please detail the methods used to backup and restore to help understand where the problem may be occuring.

Please be more specific about exactly what you've done so far. Have you restored all your data files from tape, or just this one? Did you perform a recovery after restoring datafile(s)?

We restore all the datafiles - include control files. After that we run recover database using backup control files - and process fail at this particular datafile.

We are in the process of migrating the hardware, so we are perfroming backup and restore of the original Oracle and restore to the new server.

We have kick off another full backup, should be completed in another 3 hours and will try again. (found from a web site pointing that it could be datafiles corruption)
