One of my database shows "(recovering)", icon became gary, no item under the list from SQL server Enterprise Manager. I wait for a long time, but it is still in that status. What shall I do for this? Thanks.
Mine is SQL2000.

Sounds like a database restore failed. Check the event log and the ERRORLOG for more info as to why it failed.

You will want to start the restore again.

How did you do the restore? Did you use WITH RECOVERY or WITH NORECOVERY?

You might want to try running:

RESTORE dbname WITH RECOVERY

-SQLBill

You also might want to make sure that EM isn't cacheing the status by disconnecting from the server and reconnecting. It might be that simple.

Thanks all. Actually I did nothing to it. Maybe Denny is right. Today I find it is OK.
