I try to recover my system status files onto a test disk. However, I get a message saying something about "access denied, cannot restore file" (I cannot quote litterally because the software is German version).

Accordingly, I tried to recover in secured (safe?) mode. For that I started my Win2K in that mode. But now I cannot start my Backup Exec because none of the seven necessary system services is started. Trying to start them manually results in Kernel32.dll error messages 1068 (dependence service or dependence group could not be started) or 1077 (since last system start the service was not started).

Here I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

Thank you, K.W.
