Hi All,

A MORON...(that would be me) took a disk out of a dead system, put it in a new system as a slave, changed from FAT32 to NTFS, deleted the windows directory, now I need to find the outlook/outlook express files of the user.

These are not on a server,( I will check with the ISP...)

I have searched for .pst, .idx, .ost & .wab files. Can not find any at all.

Where do these files usually reside????

Have I now got to tell the user...sorry???

Is there a way of at least getting back the address book???

Thanx,

Bruce

OE mail is stored in *.dbx format. Some OS's (you didn't specify where the drive came from) keep these files in hidden directories, so when when using the windows search function, be sure to include hidden & system folders. OE's address book is *.wab

Standalone installations of Outlook, store everything in a *.pst file.
