This is my situation...

The W2K installation became corrupt and I couldn't boot
Windows. I had to create a 2nd W2K installation on the
same disk (so I could recover my data).

So now I can see the original C drive (from my new W2K
install) and I'd like to copy across the Outlook inbox.
What do i need to copy? I've navigated to c:\prog files\MS
Office\Office\...What now!!! There are no .pst files in the office directory.

I thought I'd see an'Inbox' file there but no joy...

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Try running a search for .pst files.
Make sure that you have set your folder options in windows explorer to view all hidden files and folders

Hope this helps

I would agree with likeylad, with the additional helpof once you re-install Office open outlook and import the contents of the pst file (including subfolders) into the new PST file Outlook created.

search the entire drive for *.pst files. You should find the backup file or archive. Do an import and you will be able to recover your lost data
Good Luck

Found it!

When I first searched certain files were hidden (Folder Options, view all files etc) so I turned that off and re-searched for outlook.pst and there it was!

Thanks for your help. Ó¿Õ¬
