Hello.

I was working with Outlook 2000 on a Windows 98 machine which finally died on me. Switched to a new XP machine and took the old drive from the dead computer and put it in the new computer as a secondary drive to recover all my data. One big issue - I had been using Outlook 2000 since - well - 2000 and had not utilized the archive option. All my e-mails were still in my folders - easily nearly 10,000 e-mails (received and sent) - a lot of it critical business corespondance.

Now that I've got the drive in the new system, Outlook won't run from it - it tells me I need to reinstall it. So I installed Outlook 2000 on my new main drive - but I'm desperately trying to figure out how to get back to all my e-mails still sitting on the secondary drive.

I seached for .dbx files, but only found files for Outlook Express, which I stopped using years ago. No .pst files, either. Is there some way I can get the new install of Outlook 2000 to recoginize all the old e-mail on the second drive?

Thank you.

look for your OST files. recover them and copy them to the location of your new drive. or change the location of your data files to the secondary drive to capture them.
