Hi,

I have windows XP with 2 partitions NTFS. I deleted 2 wav files around 250MB each around 3 months ago. I have tried various recovery toold to try and get this data back e.g GetDataBack for NTFS, but does not recover the files. The origial directory from where the files were delete still exists also.
I have seen lots of different software that says it can recover deleted files. I am wondering if anyone can suggest an method that may recover these files and what is the likely hood of them being recovered?

Many Thanks

after 3 months of accessing files and the repositioning of bits on the hard drive it is unlikely that you will be able to recover all or even most of the files.

however, go to undelete.com and see if their program can find the files. if it says it can, you need to buy their complete software to finish the undelete process.

another option might be using Norton's suite of tools to recover the files.

good luck.

File scavenger is another option, it saved my bacon. It was recommended to me in an older post on these forums.

3 months is going to be a long time to hope that any program is going to get them back (as eyec said)

But I wish you luck :)

Hmm, with out getting a specialist company involved I think you will struggle.

If its not too late check out;

It got back a hell of a lot of data after a user "accidently" formatted his hard drive.
