I used WinZip to back up data to CD-Rs using the span option so that it spanned two CDs. Unfortunately, it appears that one of the CDs must have been unformatted. Will the data have written to the CD (in which case I might be able to use a data recovery tool to recover it) or will it not have written anything at all?

Many thanks for your help

I'm not sure you can write to a CD-R that has not been formatted. Maybe the CD-R session is OPEN or you wrote to it using DirectCD? If so (DirectCD) you need to install DirectCD to read the disks. This is the most common problem with reading unclosed CDs that are read on another machine that des not have DirectCD installed.
