Help,

Currently trying to recover a Compaq Proliant 3000 Server using a 3200 Controller to a Compaq ML370 G2 Server with a Smart 5300 Controller, getting a stop error code of Stop 0x0000007B on Boot (Inaccessable Boot Device), first reboot after restore, Original Server would have been Built with Smartstart 4.90b and ML370 G2 would have been built with Smartstart 5.10 Both NT versions were NT 4 SP6a
If you use an ERD Boot Disk to replace the CompaqArray.sys file you only get drive A:\ and the CDROM. no System disks

Any Ideas....

You probably fixed it by now, but the 5300 uses cpqissm.sys to boot and the 3200 uses cpqary2.sys. So, what you want to do won't work. The array sets are completely compatible, but not the OS drivers. Tray leaving the 3200 in the new server with the drives attached. Add the 5300, boot up, add the 5300 controller driver from the latest CSP, and reboot again. After successful reboot, run F10 setup (SCU) and change the controller boot order to boot off the 5300. This will point the server to use the Active Partition on the 5300 array set. Shut down and move the cable to the 5300. If this boot works, remove the 3200. If it fails, put the 5300 in the same slot as the 3200. You;re running NT4 and it has problems with PCI bus enumeration.

Good Luck
